Below NAP, Artists from below sea-levelFrom 27 October to 4 November 2007, Pervert Design and the Netherlands Embassy are bringing 'Below NAP, Artists from below sea-level' to Malaysia. Below NAP is a showcase of music, arts, design, fashion and technology produced in the Netherlands by established and upcoming Dutch artists, designers and creators.
In the framework of Below NAP, a Holland Pavilion will be set up at Recharge Revelation 5 Global Gathering at A'Famosa Resort Melaka on Saturday 27 October. There will be a 'Meet & Greet' session with the Dutch participating artists:
- Street artists Sit & Morcky
- Graphic designers Two Things
- The VJ collective Eye Supply
- DJ Johan Gielen
- DJ Marcel Woods
- DJ Sander van Doorn
Furthermore, workshop sessions will be organised at Raffles Design Institute on Wednesday 31 October by Sit & Morcky, and at LimKokWing University of creative Technology on Wednesday 31 October and Thursday 01 November by Sit & Morcky and Eye Supply.
Below NAP is meant to foster and build dynamic relationships between Dutch and Malaysian artists/designers, toward the goal of creating a platform for the exchange of creative ideas, and through that socio-cultural understanding. Below NAP will also show Malaysia another side of the Netherlands than the windmills and tulips it is usually associated with, which is very fitting considering the Netherland Embassy's 'Holland more than tulips'-campaign that has been running all year.
