EUMBIO 2007The EU-Malaysia Biotechnology Business Partnership 2007 (EUMBIO 2007) is a business matchmaking project co-funded by the Asia Invest II Programme of the European commission (EC) and is jointly promoted by the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MiGHT) and two European partners: the European Association for Bioindustries (EuropaBio) from Belgium and the Association for the BioPharmaceutical Industry (BioFarmind) from the Netherlands.
The main objective of this project is to establish long-term business and technology cooperation by arranging one-on-one partnering meetings between biotech companies and research institutions (including universities) from the 25 member states of the EU and Asia/Malaysia, to formalise business partnerships such as technology transfer, R&D, trading of biotech products, venture capital investment, contract manufacturing, contract research etc., via the event. The emphasis will be on Bio-agriculture, Bio-healthcare, Bio-manufacturing, and Bio-informatics. The project is timely and aligns with the EU-Malaysia agenda to promote the biotechnology industry.
