From 5 until 10 November the first exhibition of Les Femmes de Fem & Fiona will be held in the Cornwallis Suite of the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Penang. The exhibition consists of clay sculptures by Dutch sculptor Femke Ligthart and photographs by Singapore born photographer Fiona Lim.

The work of Femke Ligthart of Fem is inspired by a melting pot of cultures, combining Asian influences with her Dutch background. A typical example of her work is a female form combined with the auspicious fish, which forms to make a beautiful mermaid: a perfect meeting of East and West.

For this exhibition Fem is working on clay torsos, ornamented with her own Indian Henna designs.
