Global Reporting Initiative Readers' Choice AwardsThe Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) sets the standard in the field of sustainability. Over the past years, organisations and companies worldwide have invested both time and means to strengthen their capacity to report on their sustainability accomplishments and disclosing non-financial information. This year GRI will take sustainability reporting to a new level.
On 1 October GRI launched the project 'Readers' Choice Awards', through which readers of sustainability reports worldwide are invited to vote on the internet for the best sustainability reports in several categories.
After the votes have been counted, 9 organisations/companies will receive an award during The Amsterdam Global Conference on Sustainability, 7-9 May 2008. Furthermore, the results of the GRI Readers' Choice Awards will be presented in a Survey Report during the conference in several plenary and parallel sessions.
Everyone with an interest in sustainability and sustainability reporting is welcome to participate in the Readers' Choice Awards. Organisations/companies that have written sustainability reports for the year 2006 can upload their report online to be in the running for one of the awards. Subsequently, people can register online and evaluate/score the posted reports.
The scoring period for the GRI Readers' Choice Awards runs from 1 October until 31 December.
